The Sekyere Kumawu Education Directorate is set to host the much-anticipated inter-circuit quiz competition for Junior High School (JHS) learners within the district. This academic contest is one of the most important educational events on the directorate’s calendar, designed to promote healthy competition, academic excellence, and critical thinking among basic school learners.
The event is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at the Tweneboa Kodua Senior High School (SHS). The venue is expected to provide a conducive environment for both contestants and spectators, as schools battle it out for intellectual supremacy in a highly competitive atmosphere.
The programme is expected to bring together important personalities, including Barima Sarfo Tweneboa Kodua, Kumawumanhene; Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim, MP for the Kumawu Constituency; Hon. Kwasi Amankwaa, DCE for the Kumawu District; Mr. Kwame Oduro-Owusu, District Education Director for Kumawu; and the host of the competition, Headteachers, Teachers, Students, among others.
Six schools that emerged as champions at the inter-school level within their respective circuits have qualified to contest for the ultimate crown. These schools have demonstrated outstanding academic performance and resilience throughout the preliminary stages of the competition, and they are now preparing rigorously for the final showdown.
The schools in contention are Woraso D/A JHS, Besoro D/A 2 JHS, Kumawu Presby JHS, Kumawu SDA JHS, Akrofoso D/A JHS, and Asekyerewa D/A JHS. Each of these schools has confidently expressed readiness and strong determination to win the title, making this first edition of the competition a memorable one.
Sir Joe, the Examinations Coordinator, together with his team, is diligently preparing the quiz questions and putting all necessary arrangements in place to ensure that the competition is both intellectually stimulating and enjoyable. Their efforts are focused on maintaining fairness, balance, and academic standard throughout the contest.
Information received by Sir Joe and from Madam Cynthia Ackom, the District Education’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), suggest that learners participating in the competition are currently engaged in intensive revision, focusing on the four core subjects: Mathematics, English Language, Integrated Science, and Social Studies. Teachers have also intensified their support, guiding students through past questions and key topic areas in preparation for the challenge ahead.
Education officers from the Kumawu Education Directorate, alongside teachers and students, are in high anticipation of the event. There is a shared sense of excitement and curiosity about which school will ultimately rise to claim the crown.
As the day approaches, the big question remains: which school will emerge victorious and be crowned champion of the Sekyere Kumawu Education Inter-Circuit Quiz Competition?
The KG and Lower Primary learners will also have a reading festival contest on Monday, April 27, 2026, at the same venue.
