On Friday, November 6, 2026, Sir Joe, together with his colleague, Mr. Shadrack Sarpong, visited Woraso D/A Primary School in the Sekyere Kumawu District to conduct a lower-rank promotion and confirmation inspection for two teachers who had submitted applications to the Sekyere Kumawu District Education Directorate.
The inspection involved two teachers, one of whom had applied for confirmation, while the other had applied for promotion to the rank of Senior Superintendent I (SSI).
As part of the inspection exercise, we undertook a comprehensive assessment of the teachers’ professional activities and performance. These included checking their attendance records, assessing their work output, reviewing their lesson plans and other professional documents, and conducting classroom sit-in observations to assess their lesson delivery.
The classroom observation provided an opportunity to assess how effectively the teachers prepared and delivered their lessons, managed their classrooms, engaged learners, and applied appropriate teaching and learning strategies.
The primary objective of the exercise was to evaluate the teachers’ professional conduct, performance, commitment, and readiness for the respective confirmation and promotion processes. It also served as an opportunity to identify areas where professional improvement and development might be necessary.
Following the inspection, Sir Joe and Mr. Shadrack Sarpong held a feedback session with the two teachers, during which they shared their observations, highlighted areas of strength, and discussed aspects of their professional practice that required improvement.
The teachers were also encouraged to take the feedback constructively and continue to uphold the professional standards and expectations of the Ghana Education Service (GES).
