Justice E.K. Wiredu Methodist International School has celebrated the 2025 edition of John Wesley Day with a colourful and spiritually uplifting event. The celebration took place on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the Emmanuel Methodist Church in Kumawu.
John Wesley Day commemorates the life-changing spiritual encounter of Rev. John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist movement, which occurred on May 24, 1738. This experience, often referred to as the “Aldersgate Street Experience,” marks the day Wesley felt his heart “strangely warmed” and fully surrendered his life to God and his calling to ministry.

Since May 24, 2025, falls on a Saturday, which is a weekend, the school administration made a strategic decision to hold the celebration a day earlier, on Friday, to ensure full participation by students and staff.
The event was graced by Rev. Daniel Gyasi-Nimako, the Minister in charge of the Kumawu Emmanuel Methodist Church and the local manager of the school. He, along with the school’s management, delivered messages to the students, focusing particularly on the importance of spiritual growth and how students can balance their faith with academic excellence. His message, particularly, encouraged the students to remain rooted in Christian values while striving for academic success.

Reliable information gathered by SIRJOE ONLINE Media indicates that the students warmly received the addresses delivered by the various speakers. They were inspired and reportedly pledged to put the lessons learned into practice in their daily lives, both in and outside the classroom.

Pastor Oppong, the headteacher of Justice E.K. Wiredu Methodist International School, expressed his sincere appreciation to the church leadership, school authorities, parents, and other stakeholders for their support and participation in making the John Wesley Day celebration a success. He emphasized the significance of such events in nurturing morally upright and academically focused students.
