Hon. Dr. Bryan Acheampong is a distinguished Ghanaian politician and the current Member of Parliament (MP) for the Abetifi Constituency in the Eastern Region of Ghana. With a strong academic background and a diverse professional portfolio, Dr. Acheampong has made a name for himself not only in politics but also in the business and security sectors.

He was born on 27th November 1972 in Suhum, a town in the Eastern Region. Bryan Acheampong hails from Nkwatia in the Kwahu East District. As a native of Kwahu and someone committed to serving his people, Bryan Acheampong has dedicated himself to serving the people of Abetifi, a constituency known for its dynamic social and economic contributions to the region.

Dr. Acheampong’s academic credentials are extensive and reflect his dedication to lifelong learning and excellence. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Information Systems from the University of Ghana. In addition, he is currently a PhD candidate in Security and Intelligence at the University of Buckingham in the United Kingdom. His international education spans several prestigious institutions. He earned a Master of Professional Studies (MPS) in Applied Intelligence from Georgetown University in the United States, a Master of Arts (MA) in Security and Intelligence from the University of Leicester in the UK, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Johnson and Wales University in the United States. His undergraduate studies were also completed at Johnson and Wales University, where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management.

Before his tertiary education, Bryan Acheampong attended Achimota Primary School and later proceeded to Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (Presec, Legon), where he completed his O and A Levels.

In addition to his numerous academic qualifications in business and intelligence, Dr. Acheampong has pursued a legal education. He holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in Professional Legal Practice from the University of Law in the UK, a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the same institution, and is currently a post-call student at the Ghana School of Law.

In the Ghanaian Parliament, Dr. Acheampong holds several key leadership roles. He currently serves as the Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee, which plays a critical role in Ghana’s international relations and foreign policy. He is also a member of the Defense and Interior Committee, the Appointments Committee, and the Committee of Selection, where his expertise in security and intelligence has proven to be invaluable.

Bryan Acheampong is widely regarded as a successful businessman. His business acumen, coupled with his academic insights in management and intelligence, has enabled him to thrive in various sectors. Although much of his business life is kept out of the public eye, sources indicate that, those close to him recognize his entrepreneurial spirit and strategic thinking.

Dr. Acheampong’s contributions to national development, particularly in the areas of security, governance, and education, have positioned him as one of the leading figures in Ghanaian politics. His multifaceted background uniquely qualifies him to address complex national and international issues.
